At Lucille's Voice our volunteers are an extremely vital part of our program. There are a variety of things that you can assist us with by donating your time.

 

Along with caring for the animals we currently have, or providing a temporary foster home, offering an evening or day off for a current foster parent, helping to build a barn or refence a horse pen, cleaning, feeding, or a multitude of other things. There are also day to day operations that require creative thinking, marketing, public relations, or administrative things.

Our focus/mission is animals first everything else after. That usually means "things" in the other areas of our organization might get delayed.We need volunteers that can respond to questions, help with fund raising ideas, help with doing the fundraisers after they are approved, web design or maintenance, listing and responding to questions about items for sale on our on-line store, keeping an eye on the "NEEDS OUT" posts at high kill shelters, and getting as much info as possible, driving or meeting transport from out of state shelters.

Then there is the BIG "thing". Public relations is huge with us, it's a way to educate and possibly prevent an animal from losing it's home/family. That in itself requires the ability to work with difficult circumstances at times.......patience is important.

Another part of public relations is the letter/e-mail/media aspect. There are a list of things that we are currently working on to be presented to legislature and will require some fine tuning, so there will be more info on that later.

For everyone that thinks they can't volunteer to work with an animal organization because they may get too attached, or they don't have animal skills, or they can't drive, etc. etc. etc. There are SO many ways you CAN help.
